Marketing with TikTok

Unlike the past few blog posts about my chapter reading, this is something I actually might know. TikTok is one of the most popular social media platforms to date, and it’s definitely my personal favorite as well. I spend way too much time on TikTok, but I feel like that’s because of just the way it's set up. It’s a very simple design, you can open the app and just scroll. And with video marketing taking the top spot for the best ways to market, that makes TikTok the perfect social media platform for that kind of marketing.

Recently, TikTok is becoming really effective and popular. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen small businesses suddenly boom and become overrun with orders in just one evening all because they had one video go viral. The way TikTok’s algorithm works really contributes to this. It’s just like many other social media platforms, so it essentially just brings forward things that you have liked in the past and things that you may like based on your previous experiences. One of the categories on TikTok that I like to watch is food review videos because I like to see what kind of small businesses or restaurants that are near me that I wouldn’t usually know about.

Because of this, on multiple occasions I’ve come across an influencer named Kieth Lee. He has become famous for visiting small mom and pop restaurants and reviewing their food in an attempt to bring more awareness to them. And in return, people will flock to these little places and create booming business, oftentimes saving the restaurant from closing down due to not having enough sales coming through. There are many other examples I could give on this topic but in conclusion, TikTok does extremely well when it comes to marketing and is possibly one of the best things you could do to increase brand awareness and conversions for your business.
