Baking Instead of Doing Homework? Yes Please.
This past weekend I had made some time for myself to bake something new. Except I did not have a lot of time, so I had to make something that was super quick and easy. I already had something in mind from finding it on TikTok (of course) so all I had to do was run to the store, and then get to baking! I was able to get all of the ingredients from Community Markets.
I forgot the name of the recipe, or if it even had one, so I’ve just been calling them Nutella Puffs. The only things I needed were:
2 cans of Pillsbury biscuit sheets
1 jar of Nutella (not the huge jar)
Powdered sugar
2 Eggs
That’s it! In the video, whoever was making them made them look super cute and aesthetic looking, but I was not up for that when making these and I didn’t have the supplies for it either. They turned out just fine without the cutesy details!
Anyway, if you want to make these you’ll have to start out by grabbing your baking pan and lining it with parchment paper, or just greasing it up. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then continue by opening just one can of the biscuit sheets and flattening it out onto your baking sheet. I stretched mine out a little bit as I did this because I was worried the dough may not cook all the way through if I didn’t. Once I was happy with how that looked, I took that whole jar of Nutella and spread it all over the biscuit sheet evenly. I just used a butter knife to do so. After that you’re going to want to open up that other can of biscuit sheet, stretch it out some to match the other sheet, and lay that puppy down over the Nutella. In the video I watched, the girl had used cookie cutters to cut out little shapes from this giant sandwich looking thing but I didn’t have cookie cutters. I used a pizza cutter and just cut it all up into even squares. Once you’ve got your desired shapes, now we make an egg wash. Which is literally just taking your two eggs and whisking them up as much as possible. If you don’t have a whisk, a fork works just fine! And again, in the video the girl had a nice little brush that could evenly spread the egg wash over her shapes all nice and neatly. I took my little squares and just dunked them in the bowl. Be sure to put them back on your baking sheet, with a little bit of space between your shapes. They aren’t going to get super big, so the spaces can be relatively small. That’s pretty much all there is to it! Stick them in the oven for about 13-15 minutes, and once you pull them out sprinkle that powdered sugar on them and they are done!
I absolutely ate some before I took a picture. They were pretty good honestly! I know they don’t necessarily look that great but I also didn’t really put that much effort into the presentation so what did you expect? But they tasted really good and would make a great little breakfast alternative or snack!

These look and sound delicious! I am obsessed with Nutella, so this is a recipe I may have to recreate. Recently, I also have been making sweet treats instead of doing my homework. I have made buckeyes, chocolate and peanut butter apple date bites, as well as homemade cookies. I have a major sweet tooth! This recipe seems like the perfect snack or festive treat!
ReplyDeleteI will do just about anything before I do my homework, as I love to procrastinate, so maybe I'll as this to my list. Those look like they would taste sooo good. I love anything chocolate so maybe I'll be baking these sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could bake! This recipe looks so good. I am such a procrastinator, and I think baking would definitely be something I do before homework if I were any good at it. I appreciate that you gave us the recipe because I think I might try to make these If I ever get the chance!
