Finally Going Home, Then Traveling Some More
This past weekend I finally got to go home and visit my family for the first time since the semester started. I have a job at the CVS in Lima that I try to get as many hours as I can with, but we are currently short staffed due to the influx of RiteAid customers coming in and transferring their scripts to our store (or Walgreens). Because of this, I have not been able to get some weekends off but when I did, I went home.
I’m from the Akron-Canton area in a little town called Green, OH so this was a little over a 2 hour trip. But it was well worth it to see my parents and my little siblings, ages 10 and 6. I know it’s a big age gap but my mom had me when she was in high school and I won’t go into any more detail than that. Just know I love my family and although technically they are my half siblings, they are still my siblings through and through. I have a picture of them in my previous post. But when I went home I got to see my little brother play football for a little bit! And my little sister of course had everything to talk about while we were watching the game, as well as my little cousins who also showed up with their mom to watch. After that we made our way to the neighborhood block party that was going on, hung out for a little bit and then had to hop on the golf cart and rush home when it started pouring! Unfortunately I didn’t end up staying for the entire weekend like I would have wanted to, I still had to work open to close on Sunday. I ended up just getting up really early in the morning and driving straight to work. I was dead by the end of my shift but it was well worth it to spend at least a little bit of time with my family.
And now this weekend I get to spend some time with my boyfriend’s family down in Tennessee! His mom posted on facebook a while ago about wanting to swap spooky baskets, which are just these little halloween themed gift baskets that are always super cute! Instead of swapping one with her, I decided I’m just going to surprise her with one! I was not going to be able to do one with the same budget as her (her budget would have been a lot higher since I can only make so much money with school and a part time job) which is why I didn’t want to swap them but I still figured she most likely still wanted one! I think I did a decent job, I ended up spending less than $40! I’ll put a picture down below but be warned, my camera on my phone is broken so it won’t be the greatest quality at all.

It sounds like you had such a fulfilling weekend, even though it was short! Family time is always worth the effort, and it must have been so fun watching your little brother play football and hearing all the chatter from your sister. The block party and racing the rain on a golf cart sound like classic small-town fun, too!
