Favorite Hobby Part 2?

I guess I’m back in my game for a little bit! Over this past weekend I had the opportunity to take some pictures for an ONU dancer. Last year I did her sister, Madeline Fisher, and this year I took pictures for Isabelle Fisher! It’s funny, it was around the same time last year as well! However, this year Isabelle was able to go around and tell most of the theater kids about me and bring some awareness about the pictures I take. This is especially exciting, as I don’t usually do commissioned pictures. I haven’t really felt comfortable with myself and my skill level to justify adding a price to it, but after this last photoshoot I think I feel much better!

Isabelle was confiding that she needed professional dance pictures in order to be able to continue dancing throughout the summer. Only two pictures were needed, a head shot and a posed body shot. The main issue was that her theater professor had tried telling her about this one photographer guy who could take her pictures for $350. This was for a thirty minute session, makeup, and two pictures. That was obviously kind of a ridiculous price (in my opinion as well as hers) so she decided to turn to me. Now I’m no professional, but I try my best with the limited resources I have. I offer $100 for an hour and a half, and the client will get as many pictures as I can take in that time frame. Why? Well, I enjoy what I do! I love to take pictures, and editing them is always a journey but it is so satisfying to see the side by side of before and after edits. I would never turn this into a full time career, I’m too scared of losing the love for it. I feel like if it’s a career, that puts some unnecessary pressure on myself and the work that I create and that just sucks the fun out of it.

But anyway, I’m done with my little description and I’ll post a picture below! I’m starting to get a little more free time for myself so please, if you or anyone else you know would like some pictures let me know! It doesn’t have to be dance pictures, I dabble in a little bit of everything. I changed my instagram handle too:

  1. I love the Fisher twins! They are my sorority sisters and they are both so talented at what they do. It was super sweet of you to help out because $350 for a couple pictures is insane. I love that you can use your passion to capture these moments. I hope you never lose your love for photography.

  2. These pictures are incredible! I actually saw these a couple days ago on our theatre arts group chat because the sisters were promoting you to us! I'm sure a lot of people will take you up on that because those pictures are incredible. I feel like so many of us have headshots but not dance pictures. I'm super glad you got to help them out and got some amazing shots out of it!
